AN ANALYSIS OF ANGER EXPRESSIONS IN YOUTUBE COMMENT INSIDE EDITION ON THE JAILYN CANDELARIO BABY CASE

This research aims to describe the types of expressions of anger and explain how the comments express anger in YouTube comments discussing the Jailyn Candelario case. As we know, expressions of anger on social media are also becoming more prevalent along with the increasing use of digital platforms to communicate. The writers used a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data from comments on YouTube that discussed baby Jailyn Candelario. The writers found 56 data on the type of anger from secondary emotions: irritation, exasperation, rage, and disgust. In addition, the writers found three ways commenters express their anger, namely by using vocabulary, non-verbal communication, and figurative language in terms of metaphor and hyperbole. Then, the writers found types of anger in terms of rage and using vocabulary that are mostly commonly found in the comments. There are various vocabularies used by the commenters to express their anger, especially in English.References
