IDIOM BAHASA MINANGKABAU DI DAERAH LINTAU KECAMATAN LINTAU BUO KABUPATEN TANAH DATAR

Abstract

Idiom is a part of language in form of word, phrase, or sentence that the mean can oat be predicted from the lexical meaning, the elements or thy grammatical weaning of each part, this research alims to describe the form and mooning of the idiom of Minangkabau language at Lintau, sub- district Lintau Buo, tanah datar regency. To analyze the form and the meaning of idiom, chaer 2009 theory was used the meyhad that was used together the data was „simak‟ method. The technique that was used in garnering the data was „simak bebas libat cakap‟ technique. Furthermore, „catat‟ (writing) technique was used. To analyze the data „agih‟ method was used based an the reset of research to „teknik perluas‟ and „teknik lesap‟. In Minangkabau language at Lintau, Lintau Buo sub-district, tanah datar regency, idiom was found in forms of (1) idiom with parts of body, such as. Kapalo „head, ati „liver‟ (2) idiom with sense, such as: mato „eyer‟ talingo „ears‟ (3) idiom with the name of colour, such as, sirah „red‟, putiah „white‟ (4) idiom with the name of natural objects. Such as, talago „lake‟, angin „wind‟, mandi „bath‟, alu‟ alu‟, batu „stone‟ tanah „land‟ (5) idiom with the name of animal, such as. Ayam „chicken‟, ulek „caterpillar‟ murai „magpie, unggeh „fowl, kambiang „goat‟, and (6) idiom with the name of number, such as : duo ‟two‟ manduo, „fort, sibu „a thousand, satangah „a halt, the meaning of the idiom the was found were (1) full idiom, such as mambanting tulang, such as maunjuk gigi „menunjuk gigi‟.
