Abstract

Verb research in Minangkabau Binjai, Basa Ampek Balai Tapan District, Pesisir Selatan Regency did because many verbs were found in utterance of society in Nagari Binjai. This research have purpose to describe form of verb in Minangkabau Binjai, Basa Ampek Balai Tapan District, Pesisir Selatan Regency Language. Theories that used are Alwi and Chaer‟s theories. The writer used descriptive method. Technique that used to collecting data is elicitation, recording, and note taking technique. Next in analysing data the writer used mutation and deletion technique. The results of this research are basic verb and derivative verb. Basic verb that found are verb that follow by adverb such as adverb dak „no‟, pasting „sure‟, sdang „again‟, aruih „should‟, jaRang „rare‟ and lum „not.yet‟; and verb that doesn‟t follow by adverb. Derivative form that found are (1) Transposition, transposition from noun to verb; (2) affixation such as prefix {m-}, {n-}, {ng-}, {ny-}, {ma-}, {ba-}, {ta-}, and {ding-}; (3) reduplication like partial reduplication; (4) compound word such as basic compound word to affixation compound word.
