PENANDA WAKTU DALAM BAHASA MINANGKABAU DAERAH BALAI SELASA KABUPATEN PESISIR SELATAN: KAJIAN STRUKTUR

Abstract

Time marker is a fool that used to find out what the did before, now and what will they
do next. This research aims to describe the form and meaning of time marker in Minangkabau
language in Balai Selasa Pesisir Selatan District. To analyse the form and meaning of time
marker, the researchers used Moussay and Alwi theory. The method that used for collecting the
data is listening method. Therefore the data collection technique used recording technique and
note technique. To analyze the data used agih method with feed back or permutation technique
and reading techniqve. Time marker that was found in Minangkabau language in Balai Selasa
Pesisir Selatan District, is showing time and range. Time marker of time consist of (1) indicator
of time is diuded into several pants (a) sharp time such as pukua sapuluah ‘at ten o’clock’, tinggi
aRi ‘at noon’, (b) the time prediction based on the sun, example Malam Senayan ‘Sundai night’,
jalang kasiang cako ‘ahead of this morning’. (c) the time prediction based on fifth times of
praying such as luhua aRi ‘at dzuhur’ waktu subuah ‘at subuh’.(2) other time marker that is
showing are Ari Abah ‘Wednesday’ Ari jumaek ‘Friday’. (3) indicator of mouth, such as bulan
april bisuak ‘on next April’. Bulan Mulud ‘ Maulud Month’, (4) indicator of year such as taun
sambilan tigo, in 2009, di taun 2009 ‘in 2009’. (5) explanatory of time such as patang ko
‘yesterdai’, bisuak siang ‘tomorraw afternoon’. (6) Range such as sasudah sumbayang ‘after
praying, antaro ‘befween’, salamo ko ‘alt this time’.
