GAMBARAN MASYARAKAT KEDUNGDORO DALAM NOVEL KUPU-KUPU MALAM KARYA ACHMAD MUNIF

Abstract

This research analyzes description of Kedungdoro Society In Kupu-Kupu malam Novel By Achmad Munif. The description can see by analyzing of social background. Social background relate with behavior of society like living habits, religion, life of view, way of think, way of manner, spiritual background and social status.
This research purpose to describe the description of society in the Kupu-Kupu Malam Novel by Achmad Munif. To analyze that description is used Nurgiyantoro theory. The method that used is descriptive method. To collect of data is the documentation technical.
Based on research, the description of Kedungdoro society is (1) Living habits, bring harvest to market, gardening, talking, and matching people; (2) Religion, Muslim and Pray to Allah; (3) Life of view, the society hate prostitute and gigolo; (4) way of think, the society accept prostitute and gigolo to live in Kedungdoro, the society apologize to them, and don’t deport them; (5) Way of manner hate, cynicism, grumbling, surly, faceout, shouting, throwing, and eccusing; (6) Spiritual background, the society afraid, jelous of wife, and the women used to silent change to be many talking; (7) Social status are looking from economy, (a) the bottom (rice shop, home assistant, maids, dangdut singer, prostitutes, coolie and farmers), (b) medium (seller), and (c) the top (has apple garden, vehicle, being an artist and village heads). From of seven Social background that has little total is religion (total is two), beside that, the most total is way of manner (total is eight).
