Abstract

Abstract In this thesis author have been researching about parenting of the nuclear family in Japan. The reason of author took this title is because, authors want to know how about family structure and parent’s role, as well as parenting of a nuclear family in Japan. This study purpose is describe the family structure and the parent’s role, as well as parenting of nuclear family in Japan. In this case, the method use is descriptive method. To analyze data, the authors use theory of culture, family functions, roles and parenting. From the results of study, author find that was changing of family structure from a big family (extanded family) became a nuclear family bring influence to parenting of children in family Japan.Within the nuclear family the responsibility to takecare of a children, is parent do especially a mother. In that case Japanese mother have a role by themselve, such as a healthy diet, to teach kids intelligence for make them ready to became knowledge/education human. Educate shame culture so that children can prepare themselves for life in society, and became usual for be alone, hard work, earnest, discipline, and polite. The goal is they can make a child who has a superior private. Key words: nuclear family, parent’s role, mother, parenting, child.
