FUNGSI SETSUBIJI DALAM NOVEL TANIN NO KAO KARYA KOBO ABE

Abstract

Abstract In this research, the writer analyzed the type and functions of setsubiji or suffix bu, chuu, sha and teki. The purpose of this research was to describe the type and functions of setsubiji or suffix bu, chuu, sha and teki with each combinations at a sentence in Tanin No Kao Novel written by Kobo Abe through generic structure: The functions. The methode of this research was descriptive in nature, which the research was taken based on fact or phenomenum that was using by the speaker emprically with the result could be presented as it was (Sudaryanto, 1992:62). The instrument that used to collect data was listening method. Which followed by note technic. In analyzing of the data, the writer used agih method with the basic technique, it was BUL technic. In analyzing the type and functions of setsubiji or suffix bu, chuu, sha and teki. The writer used Timothy J.Vance (1993). Based on the result of this research it could be known that setsubiji of suffix bu has function to show the part of unity. Next, Suffix chuu conts of four function, they are it has function as adverb if there is no word followed, it has function as noun if there is a word ni followed, it as function as forming base form if no word followed and it has function as predicate if there is a word followed by “da” further more, suffix sha has function as subject if the base form is action or activity form, and it has function as action but not refer to subject, if the base form refer to the attribute of word. Where as suffix teki has function as adjective that refer to attribute which explained to the base form. Key words: Function, suffix, and setsubiji.
