AN ANALYSIS SLANG WORD IN THE MOVIE AMERICAN PIE

Abstract

This study focused on slang by the actors in the American Pie Movies.
Slang is used for a very informal speech variety which often serves as an in group
language such as teenagers, adult, army, pop group, etc. Richard (1985). The
purpose of the research is to describe form, Type, and meaning of Slang in the
American Pie Movie. This research used qualitative method. Data were collected
from the script of the American pie movie. In this research the writers found two
form of slang, they are word and phrase and also found two types of slang, they
are teenager slang and sex slang and the meaning of slang in the American pie
movie. In conclusion, in this research the writer also found that slang is not mean
always a rude word but it can be the other way for people to say something with
other in different way. After that, slang also gives evidence that there is other way
for people to make their communication more entertain and interesting.
