KLASIFIKASI EMOSI TOKOH UMEZAWA TOKIKO DALAM NOVEL SENSEIJUTSU SATSUJINJIKEN KARYA SHIMADA SOJI

Abstract

The writer analyzes the emotion of the character, Umezawa Tokiko, seen in the novel
Senseijutsu Stsujinjiken by Shimada Soji. The classification of emotions affected the
characters’s life from the beginning until the end of the story. The writer applies the method
of characterization of fiction both direct method (telling) and indirect method (showing). In
analyzing the character’s classification of emotions, the writer uses Sigmund Freud’s
psychoanalysis. The methods used in this research is descriptive method. Umezawa Tokiko
has six of seven classification of emotions. Emotion of guilt is supported by his cruel and sly
character. Ill-difined guilt is supported by his cool-headed character. Self-punishing guilt is
supported by his sly character. The emotion of grief is supported by his loving character.
Hatred is supported by his cruel and revengeful character. Emotion of love is supported by
his sly character.
