ANALISIS BAHASA HORMAT (KEIGO) DALAM SURAT BISNIS JEPANG

Abstract

In this research, the writer analyzed respectful language in Japanese business letter. In this research, the writer uses descriptive method which method is done by describing, record, analyze, and interpret existing data which is then followed by advanced techniques and the last is mechanical translation. In analyzing the data, the writer uses the theory of Koizumi to respectful language and communicative translation of Newmark method and modulation technique of Hoed. The result of this research, respectful language that is often used is: Kenjougo is grovel word used to respect the people are talking (B) or interlocutors (A), and Teineigo is a polite word used to show a respect for the speaker to talk. In this category, ~desu and ~masu of patterns are also included. Keywords: “keigo, translation, Japanese business letter”
