Abstract

This thesis discusses about leadership style of shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. Tokugawa Ieyasu was appointed to be a shogun in 1603. Tokugawa Ieyasu was the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate or Edo period. Under Tokugawa Ieyasu leadership, Japan turned into a safe and peaceful country that can standed for 264 years. This thesis was conducted by means of descriptive method, from primary data and secondary data in the form of books articles and internet sources. These data were analyzed with the theory of leadership styles based on the authority and power. From this study it was found that the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu used military feodal system of government. Tokugawa Ieyasu lead by authoritarian,democration and liberalism style. With authoritarian leadership style Tokugawa Ieyasu made policies that a make to profitable himself and his family. Although, with policies Authoritarian Tokugawa Ieyasu made Japan into a peace country. Tokugawa Ieyasu policies must also had an effect to Japan and have the positive and negative impacts for Japan
