UNGKAPAN TABU DI NAGARI ULAKAN, KECAMATAN ULAKAN TAPAKIS, KABUPATEN PADANG PARIAMAN

Abstract

This research discusses the taboo phrase contained in Nagari Ulakan, Ulakan Tapakis District, Padang Pariaman District. Taboo phrase is a phrase that should not be used in a particular atmosphere, especially in relation to the trust. This research aimed to describe the type of replacement and function taboo phrase in Nagari Ulakan, Ulakan Tapakis District, Padang Pariaman District. In collecting the data, the writer used the techniques involved capably, recording techniques, notes technical, and fishing techniques. To analyze the data the method that I use is Agih method and the method match with many reading techniques and change techniques. The theory is used to discuss the type of surrogate expression and function expression taboo is taboo Prawirasumantri theory and the theory of Danandjaya. From the results of this research found type of replacement phrase in Nagari Ulakan taboo consists of euphemism (Eufemia) and disfemia. Euphemism is divided into three, namely (1) a euphemism in the field of trust; (2) euphemism in the field of manners; (3) euphemism in the social field. Meanwhile, the function of a taboo expression of trust that are found there are five, namely (1) functions as a thickening taboo expression of religious emotion or belief; (2) functions as a taboo expression of a collective imaginary projection system that comes from a person hallucinations; (3) function taboo phrase as an educational tool that includes: education of children, youth education, maternal education, public education; (5) functions as a taboo phrase "explanation" acceptable sense.
