CONFLICT OF THE MAIN CHARACTER AS SEEN IN LOVE YOU MORE BY LISA GARDNER

Abstract

The research aims to analyze conflicts of the main character as seen in Love You More
by Lisa Gardner. In analyzing the conflicts the writer uses structuralism theory to find
relationships and connections among intrinsic elements, such as the relationship between
characters, settings, and plot in this research. This research was done by doing close reading
technique. Based on the result of the research, the writer found Tessa has external conflicts
and internal conflicts that were influenced by her character and her setting. External conflicts
happened between Tessa and Brian Darby, Tessa and Shane lyons, also between Tessa and
Colonel Hamilton. Tessa’s internal conflicts are difficult decision and guilt feeling.
