Abstract

Imperative sentence can be defined as a sentence which contains of request to the hearer, reader or speaking partner to make an action as requested by the sentence. Imperative sentence in the program of Talk show The Comment in NET. TV has its own uniqueness. The uniqueness can be seen from perspective of the audience, which can be observed on how the use of imperative signer. The aim of the research is to describe the form of imperative sentence in the program of Talk Show The Comment in NET. TV. To analyze imperative sentence in the program, the writer uses theory of Finoza and Alwi. The method of the research which is used is descriptive method. While the techniques for collecting the data are technique of observation, making record, and taking note. The method for analyzing the data is method of addition. While the techniques for analyzing it are technique of omission, reversal technique, and expansion technique. As the result, it is found that there are six kinds of imperative sentences which are used in the program of Talk Show The Comment, such as: (1) Indirect imperative sentence, (2) Direct imperative sentence, (3) Imperative sentence of prohibition, (4) Request imperative sentence, (5) Persuasive and hope imperative sentence, (6) Allowance imperative sentence. (7) Taktransitive imperative sentence, and (8) Transitive imperative sentence. Indirect imperative sentence uses signer or identifier “come” (come on, let us do it) while imperative of prohibition uses identifier “don’t” (do not). Otherwise imperative sentence of request is signed by “give” (please), while the persuasive and hope imperative sentence uses identifier as “come on, and hope” ( come on, let us believe).
