Development of Scientific-Based Social Studies Learning Module Theme 6 for Class IV Elementary School Students

Abstrak

Social Sciences is part of the school curriculum derived from the content of the social sciences branches. According to Susanto (2014: 6) states, "Social Sciences Social Sciences is an integration of various social sciences and humanities. In learning, teachers still use books provided by schools such as books published nationally, namely thematic books, and in social studies thematic books it can be seen that the material in the book is small so that students do not understand the material and students are focused on the teacher only. As well as the school does not yet have a scientific-based IPS theme module 6 related to environmental life around students. From these problems, it is necessary to develop a module for the Development of Social Studies Learning Module Theme 6 Scientific-based ideals for fourth grade elementary school students. This type of research is development or (R&D). The development model is a 4D approach. This model consists of 4 development stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, due to time constraints and the writer's ability, it only reached the 3-D stage, namely define, design, develop. The research includes a validation questionnaire and a practicality questionnaire. The social studies learning module is validated by 3 lecturers, and tested on 1 teacher and 5 students. The results of the research on the development of the Social Science Learning Module Theme 6 Scientific-based ideals for grade IV elementary school students met the very valid criteria with an average percentage of 92% and for practicality by the teacher an average percentage of 93% was categorized as very practical and practical by students obtained an average percentage of 90% in the very practical category. From these data it can be concluded that "Development of Science-Based Learning Module Social Science Theme 6 Ideals for Class IV Elementary School Students" fulfills the criteria of being very valid and very practical, so it can be used in learning in grade IV of Elementary School.
