Abstrak

INCREASING ACTIVITIES AND LEARNING OUTCOMES MATERIALS ABOUT ROUNDING AND AREA OF FLAT BUILDING WITH REALISTIC MATHEMATIC APPROACH EDUCATION (RME) IN CLASS IV STUDENTS OF STATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 01 NEW-NEW SHELTER Pebrina Yeni1, Syafni Gustina Sari1 1Elementary School Teacher Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Bung Hatta University Padang, Indonesia e-mail : febrinayeni4@gmail.com ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low activity and student learning outcomes in learning mathematics on the material of circumference and area of flat shapes. The research method used is classroom action research using the Realistic Mathematical Education (RME) approach. Activities and learning outcomes or students' understanding of concepts after participating in learning with the Realistics Mathematics Education (RME) learning approach showed good results. Judging from the average percentage of student activity in the learning process from cycle I to cycle II, it increased from 42% to 74%. Learning outcomes are shown by the results of the final test in this study, it can be seen that in the first cycle the average score percentage is 41.91 while in the second cycle, the average score percentage is 71.02. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the mathematics learning material on the circumference and area of flat shapes with the RME approach can improve learning activities and learning outcomes for fourth grade students of SD Negeri 01 Barung-Barung Belantai. It is hoped that for further research the Realistic Mathematical Education (RME) approach can be used as an alternative to improve the quality of mathematics learning education and other learning.
