Abstrak

This research is motivated by the fact that in the learning process, the teacher only uses the lecture and question and answer method during the learning process, which causes learning to be less interesting and tends to be monotonous, because it is only centered on the teacher. In addition, the teaching materials used by the teacher are in the form of theme books and Student Worksheets (LKS), so that they do not improve student learning outcomes. Researchers saw how teachers and students were in the learning process, some students paid less attention to the teacher when explaining the material in front of the class, and students did not understand the concepts given by the teacher. When the teacher asked and students were asked to present their answers in front of the class, some students at that time could not answer the teacher's questions. To overcome this, the researchers conducted an experimental study with the title "The Effect of Make A Match Learning Model on Civics Learning Outcomes for Class IV Students at SDN 55 Air Pacah, Koto Tangah Padang District". According to Susanto (2014: 225) "Citizenship education is a subject that is used as a vehicle to develop and preserve noble and moral values rooted in the culture of the Indonesian nation". This type of research is experimental research using the Make a Match learning model. The data collected were analyzed using t-test statistical analysis. The data taken in this study is the data of grades IV.A and IV.B at SDN 55 Air Pacah. The results showed that it means that t_count>t_table, so it can be interpreted that there is a significant difference in Civics learning outcomes between students who take lessons with the Make A Match learning model and students who take lessons with conventional models. From the average count, it is known that experimental class is 76.1 and control class is 64.0, so it can be concluded that the application of the Make A Match learning model has an effect on Civics learning outcomes. Fourth grade students at SDN 55 Air Pacah, Koto Tangah District, Padang City.
