Powtoon-Based Social Studies Learning Animation Video Media Development for Grade IV Elementary School Students

Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of availability of Powtoon-based Social Science learning animation videos. This study aims to produce Powtoon-based Social Studies learning animation videos for fourth grade students of SD Negeri 27 Pasar Kambang who meet valid and practical criteria. This type of research is research and development (R&D). The development model uses 4-D which is modified into 3-D. The steps taken are define, design, and develop. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year on the subject of Indonesian diversity in the local province. In the validation process, the Animation Video was validated by 3 validator lecturers, namely material expert validator, linguist and design expert. Data for validity were obtained from the results of the validation sheet which had been assessed by material expert validators 90% with very valid criteria, 85% linguists with valid criteria and design experts 85.36% with valid criteria which got an overall percentage value of 86.95% with criteria valid. In the practical process, Video Animation was tested by 1 teacher and 10 fourth grade students at SD Negeri 27 Pasar Kambang. The data for practicality were obtained from the practicality sheet of the questionnaire response of teachers 92.18% with very practical criteria and 88.33% students with practical criteria who got a total percentage value of 88.78% with practical criteria. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Video Animation on Powtoon-based Indonesian diversity material for grade IV has met the valid and practical criteria to be used as a learning medium in social studies learning, especially for grade IV students in elementary schools.
