Abstrak

Mathematics is a basic science that has an important role in the development of science and technology. Other disciplines require mathematics as a tool in solving the problems it faces because mathematics is the queen of science. Given the important role of mathematics, the government continues to improve the quality of education. Efforts made by the government include developing and improving the curriculum, improving the quality of teachers, continuing education, completing facilities and infrastructure, and so on. The teacher has never developed a pocket book during learning, one of the obstacles is the limited ability to prepare and make a learning product. Pocket book is meant here is a small book that is easy to carry and can be put in a pocket. Pocket books are also included in the print media or visual media which are made through the printing process. Print media presents messages through letters and illustrated pictures to further clarify the message or information presented. The benefits of using print media are expected to be able to attract the attention of foster children in understanding the material being taught. Therefore, the researchers conducted a development research entitled "Development of Pocket Books for Mathematics Subjects in Theme 3 Materials for Decimal Numbers for Grade IV Elementary Schools". The type of research conducted is Research and Development (R&D) research using a 4-D development model, namely, Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. However, due to time constraints, this research only reached the Develop stage. The test subjects for the pocket book for learning Mathematics in Theme 3 of the Decimal Number Estimation Material are the fourth grade students of SDN 45 Kalumbuk, totaling 23 students. At the validation stage, the pocket book that has been designed is followed by validation activities by a validator consisting of 3 Bung Hatta University lecturers. The practicality stage is carried out after the pocket book is validated and feasible to be tested with the aim of knowing the level of practicality of the learning module that has been made. Based on the results of research on the development of Pocket Books for Mathematics Subjects in Theme 3 Materials for Decimal Numbers for Grade IV Elementary Schools, an overall average validity of 73.33% was obtained with valid criteria, while for the average practicality by teachers, an overall average of 85% was obtained. with very practical criteria. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the Pocket Book of Mathematics Subjects can be applied at SDN 45 Kalumbuk with a valid category, and very practical.
