Abstrak

In learning in schools, teachers tend to use the lecture method in the learning process and then students have not been actively involved in learning. In addition, students stated that they did not know the KIT IPA media, because the teacher had never used it for experiments in learning. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using KIT Science teaching aids on the learning outcomes of sixth graders at SDN 07 Koto Panai, Pesisir Selatan Regency. Media KIT IPA is science equipment that is produced and packaged in the form of a teaching unit box, which resembles a series of process skills testing equipment in the field of science studies and is equipped with a user manual. KIT IPA as a learning medium for Natural Sciences serves to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process, because in general students' understanding of learning by using the media will last a long time so that the quality of learning has a high value. This type of research is experimental research, experimental research is a research method conducted by experiment, which is a quantitative method, used to determine the effect of the independent variable (treatment) on the dependent variable (outcome) under controlled conditions. In carrying out this research, the researcher used two sample classes, namely the experimental class using KIT Science and the control class using conventional learning. The instrument in this research is the final test in the form of an objective. The data analysis technique used normality test, homogeneity test and t test. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the average cognitive learning outcomes of sixth grade students in the experimental class is 81.7 and the control class is 65.6. From the results of the final test, the average of the experimental class is higher than the control class. At the level of hypothesis testing, the price tcount> ttable where 3.41>1.674, which is evidenced by a significant level of = 0.05. This indicates that there is an effect of the use of KIT Science teaching aids on science learning outcomes in Class IV SDN 07 Koto Panai, Linggo Sari Baganti district, South Coast. Suggestions in this study are expected to provide convenience for students in understanding science subject matter and can train students to work together, express opinions, appreciate the shortcomings and strengths of others.
