Abstrak

Thisresearchismotivatedbythelowlearningoutcomesofstudents,duetothe lackofunderstandingofstudentsinliteralreadingandteachershavenotusedeffective readingstrategies,sostudentsdonotunderstandlearningwell.Thepurposeofthisstudy wastodescribetheimprovementofIndonesianlearningoutcomesusingtheDirected ReadingActivity(DRA)strategy.Thetheoryusedasareferenceisthereadingtheoryby Rahim (2013)andthetheoryofDirectedReadingActivity(DRA)strategybySimanjunta (2017). Thistypeofresearchisclassroom actionresearchwhichiscarriedoutintwo cycles.TheresearchsubjectswerefourthgradestudentsatSDNegeri31Kumpulan Banang,KecamatanLinggoSariBaganti,KabupatenPesisirSelatan.Theresearch instrumentwasintheform ofobservationsheets,interviewsandstudentlearning outcomestests. Basedontheresultsoftheresearchthathasbeencarriedout,thefollowing conclusions are obtained:1.The learning outcomes in the firstcycle oflearning IndonesianusingtheDirectedReadingActivity(DRA)strategyinthefourthgradeofSD obtainedanaveragepercentageof67%.Thismeansthatthelearningoutcomesoffourth gradeelementaryschoolstudentsareverylowandtheneedforasecondcycleoflearning processtoimprovestudentlearningoutcomes.2.Learningoutcomesinthefirstcycleof learningIndonesianusingtheDirectedReadingActivity(DRA)strategyingradeIVSD obtainedanaveragepercentageof81.5%.Thismeansthatstudentlearningoutcomes increaseafterthecycleIIlearningprocessiscarriedout. Theresultsofthestudycanbeexplainedthatthereisanincreaseinstudent learningoutcomesfromcycleItocycleIIby 14.5%.Thus,itcanbeconcludedthatstudentlearningoutcomesusingtheDirected ReadingActivity(DRA)strategyincrease.
