Learning Natural Sciences (IPA) is a subject that can train and provide opportunities for objective critical thinking to students. In the learning process, Natural Sciences (IPA) emphasizes providing direct experience to develop student competencies so that they can grow the ability to think, work and behave scientifically and communicate them as an important part of life skills so that students learn and understand what is in the universe. In learning at school, the teacher only uses the lecture method which causes learning to only be centered on the teacher. Students find it difficult to grasp the learning concepts applied by the teacher so that it makes students feel confused in learning. From these problems, it can be seen in the learning process that there is no available learning module with a Scientific Approach in class V in elementary schools where valid and practical research is carried out. The scientific approach can help students to improve and enhance cognitive skills and processes. Helping students gain confidence in cooperating with others. Allows students to take advantage of various types of learning resources. Generating a sense of pleasure, because of the growing sense of wanting to investigate and succeed in students. Based on these problems, it is necessary to develop printed teaching materials in the form of scientific-based science learning modules in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum, entitled "Development of Scientific-Based Science Learning Modules for Adapting Living Things to Their Environments for Class V Students at SDN 95/III Tanjung Pauh Mudik, Kerinci Regency. ” The type of research conducted is Research and Development (R&D) research using a 4-D development model, namely, Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. However, due to time constraints, this research only reached the Develop stage. The subjects of the trial of this science learning module were the fifth grade students of SDN 95/III Tanjung Pauh Mudik, Kerinci Regency, totaling 14 students. In the validation stage, the module that has been designed is followed by validation activities by a validator consisting of 3 lecturers from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Bung Hatta University. For the practicality stage, it is carried out after the module is validated and feasible to be tested with the aim of knowing the level of practicality of the learning module that has been made. Based on the results of research on the development of scientific-based science studies learning modules, an overall average validity of 90.56% was found in the very valid category, while for the average practicality by teachers and students, an overall average of 90.90% was obtained with very practical criteria. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that this scientific-based science learning module is valid and practical to use in science learning, so it can be used as one of the teaching materials in learning in fifth grade elementary school.
