Development of Indonesian Language Learning Module Based on Scientific Approach for Grade IV Elementary School

Various subjects are taught in schools, one of which is Indonesian which is one of the important subjects so that it can help students learn other subjects such as Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Citizenship Education. If you don't learn Indonesian, if you don't learn Indonesian at school, it will be difficult for students to learn other subjects. From the results of interviews with the homeroom teacher of class IV.A, information was obtained that the problems faced by teachers in the learning process in class IV. A of SDN 23 Ampalu, namely (1) Lack of enthusiasm and enthusiasm of students to concentrate in understanding Indonesian language learning. (2) The use of Student Books and Worksheets is not optimal because at the time of learning activities students are still confused in doing the questions in accordance with the steps presented in the books and Student Worksheets. (3) Students feel bored when reading long texts contained in student books and Student Worksheets due to the lack of coloring and pictures related to the material (4) The school and teachers have not provided scientific-based Indonesian language learning modules but only use guide books and Student Worksheets. Therefore, it is necessary to have interesting learning media to improve students' understanding in learning and the value of students, especially in Indonesian language lessons. So we need a learning module based on a Scientific approach so that student learning outcomes are better, and students enjoy learning Indonesian, as well as arouse students' curiosity. The author has conducted a study entitled "Development of ScientificBased Indonesian Learning Module for Class IV SDN 23 Ampalu, Padang City. The type of research conducted is Research and Development (R&D) research using a 4-D development model, namely, Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. However, due to time constraints, this research only reached the Develop stage. The test subjects of this Indonesian language learning module were fourth grade students of SDN 23 Ampalu, Padang city. In the validation stage, the module that has been designed is followed by validation activities by a validator consisting of 3 lecturers from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Bung Hatta University. The practicality stage is carried out after the module is validated and feasible to be tested with the aim of knowing the practicality of the learning module that has been made, then the effectiveness stage is carried out by fourth grade students at SDN 23 Ampalu, Padang City. Based on the results of research on the development of learning modules based on the Scientific approach, the overall validity average is 91.66%. with very valid criteria, while for the average practicality by teachers and students obtained an overall average of 91.63% with very practical criteria. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the limited scale obtained a percentage of 94% and in the small-scale test obtained a percentage of 92.5%. With effective criteria used in class IV SDN 23 Ampalu, Padang city. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the scientific-based Indonesian learning module is valid, practical, and effectively used in learning Indonesian so that it can be used as one of the teaching materials in learning in grade IV SD.Referensi
