Abstrak

Schools are formal institutions that are the center of educational activities to improve and develop children's potential and talents. Schools play an important role in producing individuals who have intellectual abilities and skills. According to Kurniadin and Mechali, (2014: 15) "Educational materials in schools are academic in nature and are organized through teaching and learning activities as a form of educational service".model Discovery Learning on social studies learning outcomes for fourth grade students at SDN 12 Sungai Liku. The instrument used in this study was a test sheet. The test is given in accordance with the subject matter that has been taught, this test is carried out after the material is discussed and studied, the test is arranged in an objective form. With the Randomized Control Group Only Design, in this design there are two classes that are selected randomly, then serve as the experimental class and the control class. The population of this research is the fourth grade students of SDN 12 Sungai Liku with the technique in determining the sample is using simple random sampling. Two classes became the sample class, namely class IV B as the experimental class and IV A as the control class. Collecting data in this study is to use a test of learning outcomes in the form of objective questions as many as 15 items. The data obtained were analyzed using t-test. The results of this study, it can be seen that the tcount is 2,934 which is greater than the ttable = 1,686. From the results of the study, it is proven that the use of the Discovery Learning has an influence on student learning outcomes in social studies learning theme 8 sub-theme 1 in class IV SDN 12 Sungai Liku, Pesisir Selatan Regency for the academic year 2021/2022.
