Abstrak

Education is a process that continues to develop in accordance with the dynamic changes that occur as the development of science and technology, changes in cultural values and the increasing demands of society to obtain education that can meet the needs of life in the pace of development which is currently growing very rapidly. One of them is by applying the learning process to children, which is in accordance with the national education system, Natural Sciences is a compulsory subject in the basic education curriculum. Science is very important role of teaching materials which is the main factor according to student characteristics and learning objectives achieved in the form of scientific-based modules on animal grouping materials based on the type of food in class V SDN 02 Pampangan The type of research method used is Research and Development is a research method used to produce a particular product and test the effectiveness of the product. According to (Trianto 2010) Device development model like this suggested by Thiagarajan, Semmel, is a 4-D model. This model consists of 4 stages of development, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Desseminat. Due to limited ability, time and cost, this research was carried out only up to stage (3-D). consisting of 17 students. At the validation stage, the module that has been designed is followed by validation activities by a validator consisting of 3 lecturers from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Bung Hatta University. The practicality stage is carried out after the module is validated and feasible to be tested with the aim of knowing the level of practicality of the Learning module that has been made. Based on the results of research on the development of scientifically based modules, an overall average validity of 3.50 was obtained with very valid criteria, while for the average practicality by teachers and students obtained an overall average of 94.22% with very practical criteria. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that this scientific-based module is valid and practical to use in science learning, so it can be used as one of the teaching materials in learning in class V SDN 02 Pampangan.
