Abstrak

According to Iskandarwassid and Sunendar (2015: 246) said reading is an activity to get the meaning of what is written in the text from reading activities can obtain information from the reading text. In reading activities, it is the process of changing symbols into sounds and from the results of reading someone can obtain reading text information. In reading activities, there are processes and products of reading. The reading process occurs when students are reciting symbols into sounds. While reading products are information obtained through reading activities. In the learning process the researcher found that there were some students who had difficulty in reading. Whereas in learning the teacher uses media that can help students to learn to read so that it is easy to understand in the reading process. That students who have difficulty in reading are less active and more silent in learning, especially in the reading process. Students cannot express their ideas well which are given by the teacher in the form of assignments and materials contained in the worksheets due to the reading difficulties. This research uses qualitative research. Sugiono (2016:6) states that Qualitative research methods are research methods to examine natural objects (as opposed to experiments) researchers are the key instrument, data collection techniques are carried out by triangulation (combined), data analysis is inductive, and research results qualitative emphasizes meaning rather than generalization. This method is used to examine natural objects and the researcher acts as a key instrument. Data collection techniques used are triangulation (combined) data and data analysis. Researchers must describe the data in accordance with reality without adding or subtracting what is holistically and described using words and language . words into letters, (b) understanding sound symbols, (c) difficulties in stringing words and letters and reading word for word; (2) the factors that cause students to have difficulty reading the beginning include: (a) internal factors, (b) external factors; (3) alternative solutions that can be applied by teachers to overcome students who have difficulty reading the beginning include: using the spelling method; b) SAS method; c) global methods; d) sound method; e) using word collection media; f) magnetic letter media; g) holding additional classes or tutoring.
