Abstrak

Learning style is the way a person accepts the learning given by the teacher. The success of learning is determined by the student's own learning style because each student has a different learning style so that the ability to understand the material is also different. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between learning styles and student learning outcomes. According to Poter and Hernacki (2015:59) "Learning style is a combination of how he absorbs, and then organizes and processes information". There are three learning styles, namely, Visual Learning Style (Vision) where students learn by seeing, looking, and observing so that students will better understand the material by seeing certain objects. Audiovisual Learning Style (Hearing) where students learn by using their sense of hearing in learning, so that students better understand the material by listening to lectures from the teacher or by playing a cassette/tape recorder. And Kinesthetic Learning Style (Movement) where students learn by using movement, touch, and work in learning, meaning learning by relying on the senses of taste and physical movements. so that students better understand the material by means of direct practice in the field or with experiments. According to Sugiyono (2019: 16) This type of research is quantitative research with a descriptive approach, namely a research method based on the philosophy of positivism, used to examine certain populations or samples, data collection using research instruments, quantitative/statistical data analysis to test hypotheses that have been applied. In this study the sample taken was a portion of the population totaling 27 students consisting of one class, namely class V Mecca with 16 male students and 11 female students. The sampling technique used is Totally Sampling. The research was conducted at SD IT Nurul Ikhlas Padang with a sample of 27 students from a total population of 27 students. Based on the results of the previous data analysis on the correlation test, the learning style correlation coefficient (X) was 0.53 > 0.38 and the learning outcomes correlation coefficient (Y) was 0.53 > 0.38. Thus it can be seen that the correlation coefficient of learning styles and learning outcomes is greater than the rtable, it can be stated that H1 is accepted. Therefore it can be concluded that there is a relationship between learning styles and student learning outcomes at SD IT Nurul Ikhlas Padang. The results of the t-table test show that the t_count value is -3.142 < the t_table value is 0.684 so it can be concluded that the H1 hypothesis is rejected and H0 is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between learning styles and student learning outcomes in Civics class V at SD IT Nurul Ikhlas Padang. This means that learning styles do not have a significant (large) influence on student learning outcomes. Based on the explanation above, the conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between learning styles and student learning outcomes. However, learning styles do not have a big effect on students because students have different learning styles, so each student has his own way of accepting the explanations given by the teacher.
