Abstrak

Interest in learning is someone's very strong desire to be involved in actions, activities, problems, and involvement that produces pleasant feelings. Susanto (2013: 57), states that student learning interest is closely related to personality, motivation, expression, self-concept or heredity. and environmental influences. Learning outcomes are benchmarks used to determine the level of success of students in understanding concepts in learning. According to Robby (2019: 25), "Learning outcomes are abilities that children acquire after going through learning activities. Problem-based learning is a learning model that uses practical problems to improve students' problem-solving abilities in groups, thus enabling students to construct new knowledge. According to Robby, (2019: 14), "problem-based learning is a learning model that challenges students to learn how to learn, study in groups to find solutions to real world problems". This made the researcher interested in conducting research entitled "Increasing Student Interest and Learning Outcomes in Indonesian Language Learning through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model in Class III Islamic Elementary School Khaira Ummah Padang". This type of research used by research, namely using the type of Classroom Action Research. According to Arikunto, et al. (2010: 3), "PTK is an examination of learning activities in the form of an action, which deliberately appears and occurs in a class together. These actions are given by the teacher or with directions from the teacher carried out by students. This Classroom Action Research (PTK) was carried out by third grade students at SD Islam Khaira Ummah using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, this research was carried out collaboratively. The subjects in this study were 28 grade III students of SD Islam Khaira Ummah. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that, in observing teacher activities, there was an increase in the percentage of teacher activities in learning that had been carried out from cycle 1 to cycle II with a percentage of 100% using the Problem Based Learning model in learning activities and an increase in interest obtained a percentage of 90%. This has been said to have increased compared to the analysis of student learning interest questionnaires in cycle 1, namely 65.31%. Means increased by a percentage of 24.69%. As well as an increase in student learning outcomes in cycle 1 of 76.78%, an increase in cycle II of 89.46%, because the presentation of the material was in accordance with the plan.
