Abstrak

This study aims to describe the effect of applying the talking stick type of cooperative learning model to the science learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SDN 03 Alai Padang. This type of research is experimental research. The research population was all of class V SDN 03 Alai Padang with class VE as the experimental class, class VD as the control class. The sampling technique used random sampling technique. The validator questions were carried out by lecturers and class teachers at SDN 28 Korong Gadang Padang VA. The data taken in this study is the learning outcomes data obtained through the final test (posttest). Based on the final test data, the average value of the experimental class (75.17) with a completeness percentage of 52% is higher than the average control class (62.42) with a completeness percentage of 32%. Based on the t-test at the real level α = 0.05, tcount = 2.85 and ttable 1.67 means tcount > ttable. From the research it can be concluded that the research results of applying the talking stick type of cooperative learning model are higher than conventional learning. For this it is suggested that teachers can apply the talking stick type cooperative learning model in the learning process on different materials.
