Abstrak

Learning is a form of effort that must be sought to gain intelligence. According to Slameto (in Salmiah, 2022: 4) states that learning is included in a process of effort that is carried out by a person in order to obtain a new change in behavior as a whole as a result of his own experience in interaction with his environment. Learning outcomes is a process for determining the value of student learning through measurement or assessment of learning outcomes. Sumartono (in Husain, 2021:22) explains learning outcomes as values that show the highest results in learning that are achieved according to the child's ability to do something at a certain time. The STAD learning model stands for Student Teams Achievement Division, which means the student team achievement division. This learning model was developed by Robert Slavin and his colleagues at Johns Hopkins University. According to Slavin (in Rusman, 2012: 214) "the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model is a cooperative learning strategy that is carried out by dividing students into several small groups with different academic abilities so that later they can work together to complete the learning objectivesâ€. This made researchers interested in conducting research entitled "Improving Student Learning Outcomes in Class IV A in Mathematics Learning Through the Sudents Teams Achievement Division (STAD) Model at SDN 08 Surau Gadang Padang". The type of research conducted was Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a cooperative learning model of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type. This model consists of 6 learning steps, namely goal delivery and motivation, group division, teacher presentation/presentation of material from the teacher, group learning activities (team work), tests/quizzes, team achievement awards. The subjects of this study were fourth grade students at SDN 08 Surau Gadang, academic year 2022/2023 with a total of 26 students, consisting of 12 female students and 14 male students. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that, in the observation of teacher activity in the first cycle with an average of 84.37 and in the second cycle there was an increase of 92.17. While the learning outcomes in the first cycle obtained an average of 69.61 with a completeness percentage of 61.53%, and in the second cycle an average of 80.38 was obtained with a completeness percentage of 84.61%. It can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics learning, so that it can be used to improve student learning outcomes.
