Improving Narrative Writing Skills for Class IV Students in Indonesian Language Learning Using Example Non-Example Models at SDN 08 Surau Gadang Padang

The background of this research is the lack of students' narrative writing skills in class IV SDN 08 Surau Gadang Padang which is caused during the learning process the teacher does not vary in applying methods or techniques or media in teaching writing so that students are less interested in writing. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of students' writing skills in writing narrative essays using the Example Non-Example learning model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and a final test. The subjects of this study were 26 grade IV students at SDN 08 Surau Gadang. The research instruments used were student writing skills assessment sheets, student activity sheets, and teacher activity sheets. The mastery of students' writing skills learning outcomes in cycles I and II, the percentage of students' narrative essay writing skills in cycle I was 26.9% with an average learning outcome of 58.5 and increased in cycle II by 76.9% with an average learning outcomes 74.3. From the results of the study it was concluded that learning Indonesian in writing narrative essays using the Example Non-Example model can improve the skills of writing narrative essays for class IV SDN 08 Surau Gadang Padang.Referensi
