Problem solving ability is the ability to identify problems independently which is carried out in stages according to systematic steps. Problem solving abilities can also support students in analyzing a problem. So students can have the potential to solve a problem. The model is defined as a measure of the various systems. Then, the learning model is a form of learning that is drawn from the beginning to the end freely presented by the teacher and is also a package of the application of an approach, method, strategy and learning technique. The learning model can also be a bridge between teaching materials and students. However, when learning in the learning process, students' ability to solve problems is still low, besides that most students are only able to memorize formulas and imitate the steps given by the teacher so that students are not used to solving problems independently. Their difficulty begins because they are unable to understand the meaning of the problems they face so they are unable to model these problems mathematically. Then when learning tends to be teacher centered so that students only listen to the teacher's explanation and in the learning process the teacher only applies conventional learning. Therefore, researchers conducted research with the title "Efforts to Improve Problem Solving Ability by Using the Problem Based Learning Model in Mathematics Learning for Grade IV Students MI No 04/E.72, Koto Baru District, Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province". Based on the results of the study, it was found that the average percentage of teacher activity increased in cycle I, reaching 72.53% and cycle II, namely 96.18%. In the problemsolving ability test, there was also an increase from cycle I to cycle II. The average value of the problem-solving ability test in cycle I was 43.61 and cycle II was 80.88. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model can improve students' problem-solving skills in class IV MI No 04/E.72, Koto Baru District, SungaiFull City, Jambi Province##submission.additionalFiles##
