This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes in Civics lessons at SDN 03 Alai Padang. This study aims to improve cognitive learning outcomes (C1) and (C2) of fourth grade students in Civics learning through the problem based learning model at SDN 03 Alai Padang. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects were grade IV students, totaling 28 students. This research was conducted in 2 cycles covering the stages of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The data collection technique in this study was in the form of teacher activity observation sheets and learning achievement tests. The results of the study showed an increase in learning outcomes in Civics learning. This can be proven from the results of observations of teacher activities, and the percentage of completeness in improving student learning outcomes. In the first cycle the average score obtained by the teacher was 77.08%, in the second cycle the average score obtained by the teacher increased to 89.58%. The percentage of student learning completeness in the cognitive aspect (C1) is 64.28% while the cognitive (C2) percentage of completeness is 67.85% so that the average score of the results of the learning test cycle I is 77.14 the percentage of learning completeness in the cognitive aspect (C1) increases to 75 % while the cognitive aspect (C2) also experienced an increase in the percentage of learning completeness to 96.42% so that the average score of the second cycle of learning test results reached 90.08 and the average of the two cycles was 83.57. Thus it can be concluded that by using the problem based learning model in Civics learning there is an increase in class IV student learning outcomes at SDN 03 Alai Padang.Referensi
