Natural Sciences (IPA) as one of the subjects in elementary school. Learning Natural Sciences (IPA) in elementary schools contains material about natural knowledge that is close to students' lives. Students are expected to know and know this knowledge in everyday life. According to Susanto (2013: 167) science or science is a human effort to understand the universe through observation that is right on target, and uses procedures and is explained by reasoning so as to get a conclusion. Teachers in the learning process must be able to use new methods, models and media that can provide enthusiasm for learning for students. However, it is often found that not all teachers can apply and use methods, models and media that are attractive to students. As a result, undesirable things occur, such as low student activity in learning and not achieving learning objectives in accordance with those that have been formulated. Based on the problems that the researchers found in the learning process, the researchers conducted Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the title "Increasing Students' Science Activities and Learning Outcomes Using the Multimedia Powerpoint Assisted Discovery Learning Model in Class V SD Negeri 09 Gumarang, Palembayan Agam District". The subjects of this study were all fifth grade students at SD Negeri 09 Gumarang, Palebayan Agam District, totaling 17 students in the 2022/2023 school year. The research was conducted through four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. This research was conducted in two cycles, where one cycle was carried out in two meetings and at the end of each cycle the researcher conducted a student achievement test. The research instruments used by researchers were observation sheets of student activities, teachers, and student learning outcomes test sheets. Based on the analysis of the results of research activities and students' natural science learning outcomes, it can be improved with the discovery learning model assisted by multimedia powerpoint in class V SD Negeri 09 Gumarang, Palembayan Agam District. Based on the research results obtained, the average percentage of student activity in the first cycle was 81.25%, while in the second cycle it reached 85.30%. So that there is an increase of 4.05%. On student learning outcomes, the percentage of learning completeness in cycle I was 70.59% with an average score of 68.71 increasing to 76.47% with an average score of 81.59 in cycle II.Referensi
