The Effect of Problem Based Learning Model Assisted by Concept Map Media on the Learning Outcomes of Science Students of Grade IV of SDN 04 Kampung Olo Padang

Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) is one of the subjects in the Independent Curriculum taught in Elementary Schools. According to Budiwati and Rini (2023:52), "Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) is a science that studies living things and inanimate objects in the universe and their interactions, and studies human life as individuals as well as social beings who interact with their environment." Elementary school teachers must have the ability to choose and apply the right learning model, especially in the context of learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). Choosing the right model is very important because it can affect how students understand and internalize the material being taught, a learning model that suits the characteristics and learning situations of students. One learning model that can have a positive influence on student learning outcomes is the problem-based learning model. According to Ngalimun (2016:117), "the problem-based learning model is a learning model that involves students to solve a problem through the stages of the scientific method so that students can learn knowledge related to the problem and at the same time have the skills to solve problems". According to Samsidah (2018:12), "Problem-based learning model or problem based learning is an approach that provides new knowledge to students to solve problems." Suryani, et al. (2018:4), states "Learning media is a tool in the teaching and learning process to stimulate the thoughts, feelings, attention and abilities or skills of learners so that they can encourage the learning process.". Meanwhile, according to Nora (2022:37) "Learning media is one of the components of learning. Learning media is anything used in learning activities that aims to stimulate students' thoughts, feelings, interests and attention so that the process of educational communication interaction between teachers (or media makers) and students can take place appropriately and effectively." One of the learning media that is considered to be able to meet students' learning needs and can improve student learning outcomes is the concept map learning media. According to Putra (2019:3), "a concept map is a graphic illustration concept that is connected to other concepts to make students' thinking structures simpler.". The type of research used is quantitative research with an experimental method. The population in this study were 50 students in grade IV of SD Negeri 04 Kampung Olo Padang, 25 students in grade IV A and 25 students in grade IV B. The sampling technique was simple random sampling, namely samples were taken from certain factors, namely based on the MidSemester Assessment score. The data collected were data on social science learning outcomes. The instrument used was a learning outcome test sheet consisting of 24 questions. The results of the study on students' social science learning outcomes showed that the average learning outcomes of students in grade IV A as the experimental class were 86.64 and in grade IV B as the control class were 79.52. Hypothesis testing with t-test using partial test obtained a significance value <0.05 with a significance level of 0.03 <0.05 which means that the learning outcomes of students who use the Problem Based Learning model assisted by concept map media are better than the learning outcomes of students who use conventional learning models in class IV of SD Negeri 04 Kampung Olo Padang. It can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by concept map media has an effect on the learning outcomes of students in class IV of SD Negeri 04 Kampung Olo Padang.Referensi
