Abstrak

The purpose of mathematics is for students to understand mathematical concepts and be able to explain the relationship between concepts and apply concepts or algorithms flexibly, accurately, efficiently and precisely. According to Anugraheni (in Andita & Taufina, 2020:542), Mathematics is a learning content that is very necessary and absolutely must be studied in formal schools, because with mathematics learning students are able to improve their reasoning skills and have a major influence on solving problems related to everyday life. One way to achieve this goal is to improve the quality of learning. In the teaching and learning process, teachers have tried to overcome these problems by implementing discussion, question and answer, and lecture methods. With the hope that students can understand the learning taught by the teacher. In addition, students are expected to be able to improve learning outcomes. The purpose of the efforts made by teachers is so that students' memories of the material that has been taught are more mature and students do not quickly forget the material that has been taught. However, the efforts made by the teacher have not yet achieved learning outcomes that are in accordance with the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP). An effective learning approach to be able to place students as the center of learning while providing a forum for socialization, then the learning that supports it is the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach. Anasrudin, et al. (2014: 1-18)) argue that the RME approach is an approach to learning mathematics that involves the reality and experience of students. In learning mathematics, students are required to be more active in finding and finding a problem, so that learning becomes centered on students (student centered). Through this RME approach, students can understand the relationship between mathematics and everyday life (real world life) and understand the general usefulness of mathematics for humans, through steps of providing contextual problems, solving problems in their own way, generating interactions, comparing and discussing answers, and concluding the results of the discussion. This type of research is Experimental Research. As explained in Sugiyono (2010:11) that the experimental research method is a research method used to find the effect of a particular treatment. The method used in this study is to reveal the impact of a treatment, namely the implementation of learning applied to the experimental group in Mathematics learning through the application of the RME approach and compared with the control group that carries out the same learning. The experiment conducted in this study is a posttest-only control design. Sugiyono (2010:1120) explains "in this design there are two groups, each group is selected randomly, the first group is given treatment called the experimental group and the group that is not given treatment is called the control. Based on the results of the research conducted by the researcher in the IVC class using the RME Approach Assisted by counting glass media in Mathematics subjects, the average score was 78.07. While in the IVD class using a conventional learning model without the help of the RME approach assisted by counting glass media with a sample size of 17 experimental classes and 19 control classes, seen in the hypothesis test using the SPSS series computer-assisted t-test, the results were 0.035. Because the significance value of 0.035 <0.05, the hypothesis H1 is accepted. From these data, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference or there is an influence of the realistic mathematics educations (rme) approach assisted by counting glass media on the learning outcomes of class IV students of SDN 01 Ulak Karang Selatan, Padang City. Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. From these data, it can be seen that the RME approach Assisted by counting glass media has an effect on the learning outcomes of class IV students of SDN 01 Ulak Karang Selatan.
