Abstrak

ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA BANGUN DATAR BERDASARKAN PROSEDUR NEWMAN PADA KELAS IV SD NEGERI 26 TALAMAU Aprila Amanda Putri1, Ira Rahmayuni Jusar1 1Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Bung Hatta E-mail : aprilaamanda89@gmail.com ABSTRAK This research is motivated by the fact that there are still many students who make mistakes in solving flat shape story problems. This condition causes low student mathematics learning outcomes. This research aims to describe students' mistakes in solving flat shape story problems based on the Newman procedure. And to describe what factors cause students to make mistakes. The subjects of this research were 3 students in class IV of SD Negeri 26 Talamau. The data collection technique is by giving essay tests in the form of story questions and interviews. Data analysis in this research went through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of the research showed that the students' errors in solving story problems found were (1) subjects with high ability made errors in process skills and errors in writing the final answer (2) subjects with moderate ability made errors in transformation, process skills and writing the final answer (3) subjects with low ability made errors in understanding the problem, transformation, process skills and writing the final answer. The percentage of types of student errors based on the Newman procedure (1) reading errors is 35%, understanding errors are 23%, transformation errors are 27%, process skills errors are 58%, and errors in writing final answers are 73%. The factors that cause students to make mistakes are (1) forgetting to write down what is known and what is asked in the question (2) not being careful in writing the formula (3) not being able to input what is known into the mathematical formula (4) forgetting to write the conclusion Keywords: Analysis of Student Errors, Flat Figures, Newman Procedure
