Efforts to Improve Students' Critical Thinking Ability in Mathematics Learning Using the Guided Inquiry Model in Class III of SDN 11 Koto Tinggi, Limapuluh Kota Regency
Abstrak
UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN PERMASALAHAN MATEMATIKA MENGGUNAKAN MODEL INKUIRI TERBIMBING DI KELAS III SDN 11 KOTO TINGGI KABUPATEN LIMA PULUH KOTA Faziana Anggun1, Syafni Gustina Sari1 1Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Bung Hatta E-mail: fazianaanggun5@gmail.com ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low critical thinking ability of students in learning mathematics in grade III of SDN 11 Koto Tinggi. The purpose of this study was to determine how to improve the critical thinking ability of grade III students of SDN 11 Koto Tinggi, using the Guided Inquiry model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in 2 cycles, where each cycle had two meetings. The subjects of this study were 12 grade III students of SDN 11 Koto Tinggi. The research instruments used were teacher activity observation sheets and critical thinking ability test sheets. Based on the results of the study, an increase in the Critical Thinking Ability of Grade III Students of SDN 11 Koto Tinggi through the Guided Inquiry Model was obtained with a Percentage of Critical Thinking Ability in Cycle I of 41.67% while in Cycle II it increased to 83.33%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the Guided Inquiry model in mathematics subjects can improve the critical thinking ability of grade III students of SDN 11 Koto Tinggi. The author provides suggestions for implementing the Guided Inquiry model in the mathematics learning process so that students' critical thinking skills can improve.
