Abstrak

IMPROVING STUDENTS' MULTIPLICATION SKILLS THROUGH THE PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING (PBL) MODEL IN CLASS III SD NEGERI 06 KAMPUNG LAPAI, KEC. NANGGALO, KOTA PADANG Widia Dwitika¹, Syukma Netti¹ ¹Elementary School Teacher Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Bung Hatta University Email: widiadwitika250@gmail.com ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low multiplication skills of third-grade students at SD Negeri 06 Kampung Lapai, Kec. Nanggalo, Kota Padang. This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) to determine how Problem-Based Learning (PBL) can improve the multiplication skills of third-grade students at SD Negeri 06 Kampung Lapai, Kec. Nanggalo, Kota Padang. The subjects of this study were 30 students from class III.B at SD Negeri 06 Kampung Lapai, Kec. Nanggalo, Kota Padang. The research instruments used were observation sheets for teacher activities and test sheets to assess students' multiplication skills. The study was carried out in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of three meetings. Based on the research results, there was an improvement in students' multiplication skills through the Problem-Based Learning model, with the percentage of students' multiplication skills increasing from 43.33% in cycle I to 83.33% in cycle II. The results of this study conclude that the Problem-Based Learning model can improve the multiplication skills of third-grade students at SD Negeri 06 Kampung Lapai, Kec. Nanggalo, Kota Padang. The author recommends implementing the Problem-Based Learning model in mathematics instruction to enhance students' multiplication skills.
