Abstrak

PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BERHITUNG SISWA KELAS 2 MELALUI METODE JARIMATAIKA DI SDN 01 ULAK KARANAG SELATAN Fazilah Nur Haymi 1 , Syafni Gustina Sari1 1Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Fakultas Keguruan Dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Bung Hatta Email : Fazilahnurhaymi@gmail.com This research is motivated by the low arithmetic ability of second-grade students of SDN 01 Ulak Karang Selatan, Padang City, West Sumatra. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of students' arithmetic ability with the jarimatika method in mathematics subjects for grade 2. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of three meetings. The subjects of this study were 26 second-grade students of SDN 01 Ulak Karang Selatan, Padang City, West Sumatra. The research instruments used were teacher observation sheets and arithmetic ability test sheets. The percentage of teacher activity obtained in cycle 1, namely 64%, was in the (Poor) criteria and increased in cycle II with a percentage obtained of 96% in the (very good) criteria. While the arithmetic ability test achieved by students in cycle 1, namely 38.46%, was in the (very poor) criteria. Then it increased in cycle II to 84.61% in the (good) criteria. This means that the success indicators in this study were achieved. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the jarimatika method can be used to improve students' arithmetic skills in mathematics lessons. Researchers suggest that teachers can use the jarimatika method in learning to improve students' arithmetic skills. Keywords: Numeracy skills, through the jarimatika method
