IMPACT ON LOCAL AUTONOMY DECREASE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN THE DISTRICT MENTAWAI ISLANDS
Abstrak
This research is motivated by the high level of unemployment in the Mentawai Islands community. Term unemployment is used in a variety of understanding relating to the lack of presence of that person's activities. Unemployment is referred to in this research is the people's daily activities, such as: do not have a job, and sudahpun work only for a few days just because it does not have a permanent job. in accordance with the mandate of the Constitution of 1945, local governments, which regulate and manage their own affairs according to the principles of autonomy and assistance, to accelerate the realization of public welfare and equitable development through improvement, service, empowerment, having regard to the principles of democracy. With the increase in unemployment each year are caused by some of the following: lack of jobs, lack of smooth communication, less smooth transportation, lack of smooth access to public services, low education and human society are minimal. This study aims 1. To determine the impact of autonomy on the unemployment rate in the Mentawai Islands. 2. To mengetaui difference between the growth in employment with job seekers in the Mentawai Islands. 3. To determine the government's decentralization policy in addressing unemployment in the Mentawai Islands. This type of research is qualitative. The instruments used were observation, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The results showed that, people's desire to work very big, but with lower levels of education, and lack of jobs led to
rising unemployment rate.
