Abstract

This research aims to determinecriteria forthe perceptionof students inipabiology and andtodetermine the corelation ofperception ofstudents withbiology study result in class VIII SMPN 1 Patamuan. This is a descriptivestudy with a sample of 92 students in class VIII SMPN 1 Patamuan registeredinthe second semester. The variablesof this studyis the perception ofstudentsas variableX andlearning resultsas variableY. There are twotypeof data, that is data onstudent perceptions (primary data) obtainedby usingquestionnaires andsecondary data from biologystudy resultsofthe studentsareobtainedfrombiologyscience teacher-value daily tests1. Datawere analyzedusing theSPSS16.0byProduct Momentcorrelation analysis. From the researchshows that theperceptioncriteriabiologystudents inlearning scienceas a wholeis4.26toa highof interpretationandthere isa fairlystrongcorrelationbetweenstudents' perception oflearning resultsobtainedby calculating thecorrelation coefficientr=0.56price. Next step iscalculation of thecoefficient  determinationshows thatthe perception ofthe corelationwith biology study resultat31.3%. It can be concludedthatthere is asignificant corelationbetween the perceptionof studentswithstudy resultsIPA-biology class VIIISMPN 1Patamuan.
