Abstract

The problem with the barber chair production process is the imbalance of these work elements which can cause inefficient track balance. So with these problems the purpose of this study is to balance the trajectory using the Moodie Young method. This method was chosen because it has a sequence of work operations that are initiated by one operation or separate operations and are united in one work operation and terminated by one work operation. The calculation indicators that will be carried out are balancing the workload which can be seen from the efficiency of the work station, minimizing the balance delay and increasing the line efficiency. The actual condition of this production process results in a line workload of 8.9% - 100%, a balance delay of 51.41% and a line efficiency of 48,8%. After balancing the production line using the Moodie Young method, this production process results in a balanced workload, namely in the percentage of 74,34% -100%, balance delay of 10,02% and line efficiency of 90%. In addition to producing a good track balance, it can also minimize the number of work stations with 7 work stations to 5 work stations.
