Abstract

Drinking water pipelines are one of the needs of the community because they help deliver clean water to the community, there is no pipe so there is no running water .pipes are widely used in households,small industries to large industries,pipes have various diameters from small to large.biggest but in reality,in the process of using it in piping systems , energy losses always occur.There fore,researchers conducted a study using ASTM A53 material to determine the corrosion rate value received by ASTM A53 material with artificial current or cholrine and distilled water.the test was carried out for 24 hours,48 hours,72 hours,96 hours,120 hours ,144 hours.The test result shows that the ASTM A53 material during the 24 hours test experienced pitting corrosion , 48 hours , 96 hours 120 hours , 144 hours experienced erosion corrosion which eroded the surface of the ASTM A53 material undergoes rapid corrosion and aggressive erosion symptoms.
