Research was conducted by developing packaging design to improve competitiveness. In this research, the desire and satisfaction of consumers are important in designing packaging. The Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method is used to determine consumer desires and design packaging starting from the design planning stage, component specification planning, process planning, production planning. The data collection used is interviews and questionnaires. From the results of the data processing carried out, a new Ladu Sala Upik packaging design was obtained and the stages passed in designing the Ladu Sala Upik packaging. From this process, the design that consumers want is obtained by paying attention to the criteria, namely the use of food grade packaging with polypropolyene material in the form of aluminum foil type standing pouch packaging equipped with a ziplock, displaying a picture of Tabuik cultural objects, displaying product information such as nutritional information, permits, producer information, raw material composition, expiration date, halal logo, adding a logo and product brand.References
