PERANCANGAN PET FEEDER OTOMATIS DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE RASIONAL

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has made it easier for people to perform various tasks, including feeding pets like cats. Typically, cat owners manually feed their pets, but when they are busy or away for long time, feeding their cat can become an issue. Common solutions include take care the cat to a neighbor or a pet shop, but these options have limitations, such as not ensuring timely feeding or requiring the cat to be confined for long periods. Therefore, this study aims to design an automatic cat feeder that can be remotely controlled via a smartphone. The design process uses a rational method, which includes steps such as Clarifying Objectives, Establishing Functions, Setting Requirements, Determining Characteristics, Generating Alternatives, Evaluating Alternatives, and Product Architecture. Based on an evaluation of the alternatives through a questionnaire, the designed device allows for both manual and scheduled feeding control via a smartphone, offering a practical solution for cat owners.
