ANALYSIS OF TRAFFIC FLOW DUE THE ACTIVITY OF PRIMARY SCHOOL (SD) DEK AND FAST-FOOD RESTAURANT (McDonald’s) ON AHMAD YANI ROAD, PADANG CITY

Abstract

Traffic flow is a influenced, by a variation of the characteristics of the vehicle and the driver's
characteristics as well as the interaction between the characteristics. Street out of the Padang
city is Ahmad Yani road, currently experiencing performance degradation of traffic. This
research addresses the analysis of traffic flow includes analysis of the capacity of the roads
and the analysis of the movement with MKJI, 1997, method. This study aims to measure the
performance of traffic that are estimated impact of the primary school and fast-food
restaurant, activities McDonald’s. Currently, the capacity of Ahmad Yani is 3.952 vcu/hr with
a degree of saturation on Saturday 0,53, Sunday 0,47, Monday 0,55, while Ahmad Yani Street
capacity prior to the building of 4.211 vcu/hs with a degree of saturation on Saturday 0.48,
Sunday 0.42, Monday 0,49. The Volume of the flow of traffic, on Saturday 23.320 vcu/day,
Sunday 16.188 vcu/day, and Monday22.617 vcu/day, whereas the volume without any
primary school and McDonald’s on Saturday 22.662 vcu/day, Sunday 15.689 vcu/day and
Monday 21.969 vcu/day. In order not to cause a surge in the volume of traffic at rush-hour,
the vehicle must be directed to the other and asked primary school provides a parking area so
that the vehicles are waiting for primary school activities does not use the road.
