Abstract

Painan City is a city located in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra.[1] The South Coastal Area is located along the coast with a relatively high level of fishery production. Most of the sources of livelihood for the people of Pesisir Selatan, especially Painan City, come from marine products, where the people work as fishermen and fish cultivators. The amount of coastal production in the form of fish, etc. Often it is wasted due to spoilage due to the absence of consumers who immediately receive marine products, so fishermen suffer many losses.[2] Therefore, the Fish Processing Industry Design is designed to increase community business in the effective and efficient economic sector because this city is not yet equipped with catch processing facilities. This study uses qualitative methods by analyzing the users, environment, themes, and buildings using existing data.[3] The fish processing industry in Painan City is designed with a Biomimetic Architecture approach that refers to Ecological principles by minimizing adverse effects on the natural environment and humans.
