Abstract

Indarung I is the first and largest industry in Southeast Asia, established in 1910. It became one of the pioneers of modernization in Minangkabau and holds great historical value. Therefore, the former Indarung 1 factory should be preserved for future generations to witness the significant historical value of the industry in the city of Padang. The factory has reached the age of 114 years and is designated as a national cultural heritage. However, the building's old age requires preservation efforts. This research aims to transform the industrial area into an object of the Industrial Museum of Heritage, using a qualitative method and an infill design approach based on the existing building's architectural style, to preserve the cultural heritage area.
