PERANCANGAN PUSAT PERAGAAN IPTEK (PP-IPTEK) DAN WAHANA WISATA SAINS PROVINSI SUMATERA BARAT DI KOTA PADANG

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need for the development of science and technology (science and technology) through science education tourism in Padang City which is still inadequate. This research aims to design a Science and Technology Demonstration Center (PP-IPTEK) in Padang City to improve science learning outside of school. Using a science-edutainment approach, the concept combines science and entertainment to fulfill the Merdeka Curriculum. Research methods involved case studies, surveys, interviews and workshops. Literature and site analysis resulted in a theory of science learning delivered through interactive props and sustainable architecture. The result of the research is the conceptual design of the Science Demonstration Center building, highlighting iconic architecture with elements of electromagnetic waves and the light spectrum. This design aims to make PPIPTEK a major educational tourist attraction in Padang City. Keywords : Science and Technology (IPTEK), Science Exhibition, Educational Tourism
